Faith Formation

St. Stanislaus Parish offers Faith Formation classes for students in Grades 1 - 9 whose family members are registered as parishioners of St. John Nepomucene or St. Stanislaus Kostka parishes and who do not attend Catholic school.  Classes are held during the school year on Wednesday evenings from 6 pm - 7:15 pm at St. Stanislaus Kostka Basilica. Classes meet in the Basilica first for Prayer and then go to the classrooms.

The Faith Formation program offered by the parishes supplements the religious formation provided by parents, who are the first teachers of their children in the ways of the faith. The curriculum is designed to assist parents in fulfilling the promise they made at their child’s Baptism: “undertaking the responsibility of raising their child in the faith.”  Students learn the fundamentals of the Catholic faith and experience the sacrifice of the Mass, the Stations of the Cross, Eucharistic Adoration and other ways of praying and practicing the Faith.  Most importantly, students strengthen their relationship with Jesus and His Church.

The parishes also provide sacramental preparation for students planning to receive First Reconciliation (Grade 2), First Communion (Grade 2) and Confirmation (Grade 10). These sacramental preparation programs follow a separate schedule.  All students planning to receive any of these sacraments are required to complete the preparation course, regardless of the school they attend.

We invite parent involvement in the Faith Formation program as volunteers.  Parents are welcome to attend class with their student.  All of the teachers are volunteers, parents often help by serving as class aides. We can always use more help.  Details about parental involvement with classes are provided in “I Would Like to Volunteer,” which is part of this web site.

Classes begin in the basilica at 6:00 PM on Wednesday night September 18.  Dismissal is at 7:15

Tuition in grades 1 – 9 is $40 per student, with a maximum fee of $100 per family.  Tuition includes all books and other materials.  We understand that this fee can be a burden for some families, so we also offer a financial assistance option.

The registration form for Faith Formation is part of this web site.  Please complete the form and submit it.  You will receive a letter welcoming your student to the Faith Formation program.
